Is it fraud if landlord allows the back rent to become more than bond and so keeps it all in the end?

During the last year of my two year rent, I was concentrating too much much on running a business that I lost track, and even though the back rent slowly amounted to the bond deposit the landlord only brought this up when the rent was nearly up. He ended up keeping the bond deposit. Surely he should have brought up the question of the back rent amounting more than £1,500 earlier? Or is it just a ploy to keep all the bond deposit by keeping quiet about the back rent? Are thee any court cases about this?

So, you didn’t pay him rent, and he kept the bond? THAT’S what the bond is for!
You don’t pay rent, he keeps whatever you owe him. In the states we call that a security deposit. Usually first and last month’s rent.
Schijnt de echte fraude belooft om uw huur te betalen en dan niet aan uw verplichting voldoet.
I’m curious how a person who is running a business can even dream up this question. By your own admission, you neglected to pay your rent, how would you react if the roles were reversed. I imagine that if you are so unorganized that you can’t even remember to pay your rent, then your business must be a real struggle for you. Personally, I would have reminded you that your rent was due when I saw a patern arrising, but that’s just me, I think your land lord was pretty lenient with you, but fraud, not a chance!!!!
De geluiden zoals de eigenaar gedroegen zich vrij. U enerzijds, schijnt om probleem te hebben dat uw verplichtingen ontmoet en schuld-verschuiving dingen te willen aan hem.
OMG….The landlord is not your babysitter…you as a responsible adult should have known you were behind in rent.
