Can a former landlord sue only ONE person on the lease for back rent? When two people signed the lease?

I was served with papers to appear in Small claims court for back-owed rent on a former apartment. The property manager/owner is only suing me for this. When the lease was signed by my former boyfriend and myself. Can she legally only take me to court for this, and not him too?

Yes she can. YOU, however, can ask the court to join your ex as a party to the lawsuit.
She can. You, in turn, can sue your former roommate.
I guess she chose you to sue..But when you go to court make sure you state you both are liable for any damages
For the nature of signing the entire rent.
