I’ve attended small business conferences for a long time. I’ve heard them say ‘if you don’t know – then don’t start.’
Don’t go to the weekend seminars. They are just a waste of time. You can make a fortune in property development, but there is so much to learn. Buying land from government is good – if you watch the zoning.
Another way is to buy properties with back taxes owing. I know people who teach this from online sites, and I know people who do it. One guy flips houses, but he said that he will have to wait 5 years for the current market to come up because ‘no one is buying fixed up houses’ in today’s market.
