Tengo el mismo problema. Tan pronto como usted entre en la puerta principal usted hace frente a la parte posterior de la chimenea. Tengo espacio abierto a la derecha e izquierdo. Qué la gente lo hizo antes de que estuviera la cubierta el lado trasero entero y extiende a la pared derecha de la casa para crear una península de la derecha. La golpeé trago y ahora tengo el mismo problema el su tener. I' m apenas que va a señalar los ladrillos y a poner un espejo enorme en la parte posterior y a poner la estantería decorativa que podría alcanzar del lado de la chimenea a la pared. Llámela un día y un it' s barato. Si usted descubre cualquie otras buenas ideas apenas me dejan saber.

OMG I wouldn’t take down the brick, that’s too much work.
If you want a smooth surface for the top, frame out the area with wood and cover with drywall, then paint.
If you want to cover it all with a more modern rock then look at this site:
You can also tile over the brick.
Before you get busy with the sledge hammer, maybe you should do a little research online at some fireplace remodeling.
