How can you get money from the government to rehab a house in Chicago?

I heard that if you move into certain neighborhoods they will pay you to make the area nicer by rehabbing and renovating houses. Is this true….and if so,what neighborhoods in Chicago?

I think you are talking about grant programs. In certain downtrodden areas (usually inner city) grant money is made available to induce people to buy in those areas.
Talk to a REALTOR who has one listed in the area you are interested in. They will know if and how much money is available.
In my area we have had this happen with several areas. Once the homes start moving the grant money disappears so it is best to get in early.
