Can anyone tell me if it is neccessary to put knotting on new wood before staining? I have learnt from experience that you have to do it before painting but if it’s not essential before applying stain it will be one job less in amongst a mountain of things that I have to do !!Honestly…..I love this house but I am beginning to think that I must be insane to be doing this alone !!

i am 23, female and from london. i have never known what i wanted to do with my life. my desk job is driving me insane, as i long to be doign something practical. i have been thinking about doing a handyman course as i would really like to be able to buy a property that is run down and renovate it. nothing big at first, maybe an old ladies house that needs painting, and new ktichen and bathroom. can anyone please give me some advice. i live in kingston upon thames. i don’t know wether i could get a job with a handy man or builder or even a property developer who buys, renovates and sells on. i don’t want people thinking i am trying to make that big elusive buck. i am willign to put the work in and training. i would be able to raise the money to buy my first project in about a year, as i have my own property already.
any help or info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
