My grandma just died and has about 3.5 acres on a very busy road in a small town just outside of Houston, Tx. My mom has so many bills to pay and really needs to get this property off her hands. Her estate is right on a main road where there are about 7 churches, one HUGE 5-A high school, an elementary school, a grocery store, a sonic is just going in, a few banks, a post office, a gas station, and other banks and small businesses.

Her house is right smack dab in the middle of all these businesses and the town is growing. Her property backs up to two roads…

****Has anyone ever heard of a person contacting different (major) businesses and giving them info on their property to sell it? (fast-food, gas station, restaurant, Walgreen’s…)??

I have a friend whose landlord is basically refusing to install a 3-prong outlet in the kitchen area (right near a sink) for a microwave AND refusing to install an outlet so he can plug in a portable AC unit. Does a tenant have any rights in that scenario?

We have to move into a static caravan whilst we renovate our house. The caravan is sited some distance away from the house. I live in the uk and will have been to florida four times by feb 08. I love the place and also want to invest in a property to rent out. I thought that combinig the two, ie a place that i love and the desire to invest in a propery would be a good idea, also the statistics say that orlando is the tourist capital of the world, having some 42million visitors last year and still rising as they build more parks (Sea Worlds Aquatica and also Harry Potter world). The strong pound against the dollar and also the property market slump in prisec all seemed to add up to a good deal. I would not purchase the property with the dependancy that the rent would cover the mortgage. Any experience and advice would be gretaly received.

I am a college student and have been paying rent for the last four years. The tax return for this year has me getting less rent back than last year even though I paid more rent this year. How is this possible? I have all the Certificates of Rent paid and I see that they are all multiplied by 19% to come up with a number. Should I not get that much rent back? Seems a bit strange. Can someone help me out?

I know all the tax rules on living in it to convert to primary, are ther any rules that if you cant rent it you can live in it an not pay the cap gain?
